We were frequent visitors across the pond, especially the Eastern seaboard and made many friends in New York and Boston (where are they now?) A regular stop off point would be Boston usually playing the Spit club. Part of the Brian Brain show was an end of set free-for-all. We would come on for an encore miming to the backing track tape, down instruments and start hurling stuff into the audience. It all started with bananas at our very first show but that was too messy. If we played near Christmas we would make the bun fight seasonal. In the picture above, taken in Boston, the large inflatable bunny indicates that it was near Easter time. As I recall, we filled the club with inflatable bunnies and Easter eggs which is just as well as I am sure there weren't many people there. We would spend a fortune on all this stuff that got thrown away, often just before the gig we would be furiously driving round looking for a 711 to buy inflatables. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with  more inflatables in the audience than people! Martin has the obligatory bottle of Miller  in hand and Bobby peers from the back!
