Live at The Brecknock Cambden London. Taken around 1979 it's a rare pic of me playing with "The Hots" Martin Atkins is sitting in the gloom behind me somewhere. I can't remember what possessed me to buy a pair of satin candy stripe pants, especially with those legs. Legs like that are called "Lucky legs" round here, why lucky? It's because you are lucky if they don't snap and poke up your arse!! What with the dyed black hair and the shades, it's a wonder that I didn't get beaten up more often than I did!. Still, we put on a brave face and I used to run and jump about like a right loon, obviously had far too much energy at that age. I still have the old Fender bass guitar. I bought it when I was 18 for £100 and it did all the Brian Brain tours and got battered to fuck. When we toured Holland it travelled on the roof rails of the car, 4 trips to the states and numerous flights it was thrown in the hold...brilliant...worth a fortune now 30 years later, and gets much use in the studio. (Though I don't jump around quite so much these  days!)
